The Empire State Building

Maybe of the strongly recommended New York attractions is, without a doubt, the Empire State Building. It is a synonym of New York and maybe its biggest symbol. It is recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Having over 100 floors it offers breathtaking views that are out of this world. Located in Midtown Manhattan, it took one year and 45 days to be built and at the time to be the world’s highest building. It is 381 m tall, 443 meters to the tip and more than four million people visit it every year.

An interesting fact about this place is that you can get married on the top of the Building except on Valentine’s day. It has its own zip code – 10118 and is by far the most sold-out landmark to visit in the USA.

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

It’s one of the best places to see when you visit New York, without a question. It is the largest and biggest building of a collection of contemporary art in the world. It has permanent exhibitions on display, visiting collections and iconic masterpieces. It offers a bit of everything for every art lover in the field of architecture, design, paintings, photography, prints, drawings, film, illustrated books, sculptures, and mixed media. It welcomes about 2.8 million visitors a year.

Just to tickle your imagination, here is an interesting fact – Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” is displayed there along with the self-portrait of Frida Kahlo, the magnificent “The Persistence of Memory” by Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso’s “Les Demoiselles”.

Statue of Liberty

What really completes holidays in New York is a visit to the Staten Island the Statue of Liberty. It is the place where more than 12 million immigrants were processed when they first came to the USA and that is why Lady Liberty Proudly stands in that place. Visiting it is not only a fun trip and seeing a landmark; it has a far greater significance than that: it is a powerful cultural experience.

The Statue of Liberty is 93 m, and the seven rays from her crown are actually representing the seven continents. It was a gift to the USA from France in 1886 and it is the most used imagery in films and media when New York is mentioned. It is the real New York visual representation.
